Inacandid interview with People magazine, Tatum O'Neal opens up about her relationship with son Kevin McEnroe. But it's her revelation about her sexuality that will surprise many fans of the Oscar-winning actress.
"I appreciate women," O'Neal, whose fresh film, "She's Funny That Way," is slated for release this summer, said. "I definitely have been dating mostly women recently."
The year-old star clarified, "I think women are the most amazing creatures on earth. They're kind, and also more intelligent than the men that I've met recently." Noting that she was currently single, O'Neal nonetheless stopped short of using the terms "lesbian" or "bisexual," simply noting, "I'm not one or the other."
She added that after her much-publicized struggles with drug addiction, she is "the most content I've ever been."

Tatum O'Neal got candid in a new interview, showing that lately she prefers the company of women.
"I like women," the year-old actress told People. "I definitely have been online dating mostly women recently."
"I consider women are the most amazing creatures on ground. They're gentle, and also more intelligent than the men that I've met recently," she added.
Yet O'Neal is not re-identifying her sexuality as straight to gay --"I'm not one or the other," she said.
O'Neal married tennis champion John McEnroe in and had three children with him, Kevin, 29; Sean, 28; and Emily, The two split in , a tumultuous divorce that involved a long custody battle that called her parental fitness into question.
But do not expect to see O'Neal out with a new female significant other any time soon. "I don't have a unwavering right now, but I look forward to it."
