Teen Mom 2alum Kailyn Lowry’s eldest son, Isaac Rivera, officially came out as gay and revealed his name is now Elliot.
"I started going by Elliott, because at some point, I wasn't happy with my first name," he said on the June 6 episode of Lowry’s “Barely Famous” podcast. "It just doesn't perceive like me."

When Lowry shared she believes her son prefers to go by Elliot to separate himself now from who he was when he appeared on MTV, he agreed that was part of the reason for the switch. Rivera then officially came out, confirming he identifies as gay.

Lowry quickly began crying, as she's “so proud” of her son for living his truth, noting it's a “brave thing to do.”

Kailyn Lowry and Jo Rivera are supporting son Elliot amid his personal chapter.
After the couple’s year-old—who previously went byIsaac before deciding Elliot, his middle name, feels more love him—came out as homosexual during a two-part series on the Teen Mom alum’s Barely Famous podcast, Kailyn and Jo had a “good conversation.”
“He said that he listened to the episodes,” Kailyn explained toParade in an interview published June “He was really proud of Elliott, and he said that he was happy.”
And Kailyn—also mom to Lincoln, 11 with ex Javi Marroquin, Lux, 7 and Creed, 4, with ex Chris Lopez, Rio, 2, and twins Verse and Valley, 20 months with fiancé Elijah Scott—said her previous lover was supportive of their son’s choice to arrive out on her podcast, specifically.

Kailyn Lowry’s son Elliott is embracing his identity.
During an emotional conversation between the Teen Mom alum and her eldest son—who previously went by the name Isaac—the year-old came out as gay and shared insight into his perspective on living an authentic life.
"It's very vital to me,” Elliott said during a June 5 episode of Kailyn’s Barely Famous podcast. “I perceive like growing up on TV, it's hard to show who you really are when a camera is in front of you all the moment. It's almost like you have a TV encounter. It's harder to be yourself and to be more comfortable.”
And while he added that coming out is not “necessary,” the teen made it dispel that it was an important part of his own journey.

The year-old reality star invited her year-old, whom she shares with ex Jo Rivera, to co-host Friday's episode and provide an update on his life.
'It's very important to me because I feel like growing up on TV, it's hard to show who you really are when a camera is in front of you all the time,' the teen said. 'It's almost like you have a TV face. It's harder to be yourself and to be more comfortable.'
He went on to describe that he changed his mention after no longer feeling associated to his birth name.
