During lockdown I had the pleasure to join an online tasting with Miguel Smith of Mount Gay and thats where, besides mixing a delicious Old Fashioned, learning about a Coffey Still broken since that has been restored a couple of years ago and closure up purchasing the Mount Queer Select Blend (more on that here), I tried the fresh Mount Gay XO (MGXO) blend.

A long-time favourite with rum fans, Mount Gay XO was relaunched in as Mount Male lover XO Triple Cask Blend, emphasising this iconic rums credentials as a masterpiece of blending.
Mount Male lover XO is comprised of rums aged between 5 and 17 years—a adjust from the previous incarnation of Mount Gay XO, whose rums were aged between 8 and 15 years—with the assemblage containing both pot still and column still rums, as is customary at Mount Gay.
